Overview
Community involved mural for Highlandpark community Center. Design and creative direction by artist Christian Olguin. Having the community involved allowed neighbors to paint and make new connection between neighbors.

Process
Mural visually depicting the Present, past and future of the community. Tippies at the top of the hill is the representation of first nations people's with medicine wheel. The area was one of the highest and camping area with water streams that used to be in above ground and now it's underground. There use to be a large dairy farm in the before30's and in modern times it's a community with bungalow houses from the 70's and new developments in contemporary times.
It also shows plants and animals of the area and the beautiful skies and sunsets we get to see during the year.
